. . . To Rabbi Gershom Sizomu, the leader of Uganda's Jewish Abayudaya community, who was ordained earlier this year by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and who was installed this summer as the Chief Rabbi of Uganda, in a ceremony attended by leaders of the Conservative Movement including Rabbis Bradley Shavit Artson, Dean of the Ziegler School, Cheryl Peretz, Richard Camras, Jacob Herber, David Kalendar and Ruven Barkan. Masorti Olami has officially admitted the Abayudaya's Moses Synagogue as a constituent member of the world association of Conservative/Masorti synagogues. To Prof. Isabel Burstein who was appointed this summer as the Executive Director for Masorti Latin America (Masorti AMLAT), the recently established organization for Masorti communities in Latin America. Prof. Burstein, a veteran Jewish educator, has been a member for more than 30 years of the Masorti Nueva Congregacion Israelita (NCI) in Montevideo, Uruguay, and has been active in MERCAZ Uruguay since 2002. . . . To Mr. Silvio Jazanovich, President, Rabbi Carlos A. Tapiero and the other leaders of the three Masorti congregations of Spain – Bet–El (Madrid), Beth–Shalom (Alicante) and Kehillat Aviv (Valencia) – who have just formally constituted the Asociacion de Representantes de Congregaciones Masorti de Espana – Masorti Espana. . . . To Rabbi Rivon Krygier, President Evelyne Montserrat–Dahan and the other leaders of Congregation Adath Shalom, in Paris' 15th district, that just celebrated its 20th birthday. Established in 1988 with twelve families as the first Masorti congregation in France, Adath Shalom has steadly grown to its current membership of over 600 families.
